There is a road that runs along the east side of the Strip behind the MGM down the Venetian. There is a set of stop lights behind the MGM old amusement park. There is a big and tall wall along Paradise. Cabs and limos used this road a lot to get around.
One day the stoplight behind MGM turned red. So I stopped wondering what was up. In a minute the wall opened. And the ground started to shake.
Out came the biggest elephant I had ever seen. Brown and hairy about 15′ high at the least. the ground shook as he marched. Then a slightly smaller elephant followed. It held the tail of the big guy. As the parade went on all elephants held the tail of the one in front. They all pooped about every step they went. A huge streak of green developed. It was mashed by each elephant marching through it. The elephant parade seemed to last hours when it probably was 15 minutes. After the last elephant came by a big red street sweeper followed. It had big armes that funneled the poop into the brushes. As it went it sprayed water and the green streak disappeared. In its place was a wet street.
It was one of the coolest things I saw in Vegas. The circus was in town at the Thomas and Mack arena at UNLV. It was about 5 miles east of the Strip on Tropicana.
It might have been one of the last live elephants that marched into Vegas for the CIrcus
