UNLV

I went to UNLV for a while. I really liked it. The only thing that I will say is horrible is the really big parking lot that is about 1/4 of mile away from classrooms.
The student lounge was great. Chic Fil Lay in there. A collection of things to use for camping, skiing, canoes. All
you had to do was check it out. Just like a library book.
There was something funny there. Samoans and Hawaiians divided the seating areas. They both were huge people. I could not tell them apart. The east side of the commons belonged to the Samoans; the west side was the Hawaiians. They were openly hostile toward each other. As long as you were not one of those to those groups you could sit anywhere, and they were really friendly.
I was a history major and got to take some cool classes. the one that was most impacting was The Mind of Evil which studied Adolf Hitler. It was the professors last class as he was retiring so no paper was required. You had to read some depressing books about Hitler, and you were tested on them. What was the most impact was when he brought in a Holocaust survivor. His story was shocking and horrible. We got to ask questions, and he gave detailed answers back. That stays with me today. The part that he ended with was buy a gun. If anyone comes to put you in a camp you kill them. He said if the Jews had done this there would not have been as many in the Concertation Camps
