It does rain in Vegas, jut not often. Normally nice dry pavement you can trust to break quickly or take curves. Coming out of the airport there was a curve that was steep. It was called Whittlesea curve. Whittlesea was a cab company that used Explorers as cabs. Back in the mid 90s they had a high center of gravity and if you took the curve to fast you would flip over sideways usually totally upside down. By the cabs rolling a lot of oil and such soaked into the pavement. This happened all over town oil and other fluids soaked into the pavement.
When it did rain cab companies took all drivers off the books. That means it doesn’t matter what amount of money you brought in that night. Normally drivers are required to be at least 15% or better away to the average of the drivers on your shift. The companies know how dangerous it is in the rain.
What happens is all the oil and fluids come to the surface and create miles long oil slicks. Not fun to driver on at all. Driving Whittlesea curve during a rain is very dangerous any one can end up smashed into a wall. I hated the rain in Vegas. 105 and humid is horrible. It burns away in 1 hour, but that hour is not fun. I myself hated it because stuff would grow in the desert and I was allergic to something out there. My eyes puffed up and my nose ran
