Treasure Island was a super themed Hotel. There was a skull face on the tower facing South. The lagoon went around the corner of the building. The walkway was a pier with wood slats and thick rope sides. You always could see the pirate ship to the South. Just about 10 minutes before the battle the pirates would take their positions, and the English did two around the corner.
The battle began as the English ship would round the corner. Their captain would demand he pirates surrender. The pirates said no. The English ship fires a shot, and a pirate dies and falls from the ropes. The pirates are mad, so they fire a shot. The English ship begins to sink. The English Captain goes down with the ship. The pirates celebrate and then walk away. If you wait about 5 minutes the English ship raises from the depth, and the captain is still at his post breathing through a tube. Then they the ship goes back around the corner backwards.
This was my favorite show. They ruined it when they turned into the Sirens of TI. if interested you have to look this one up on your own. I despise it.
New owners of the TI cemented in the lagoon and put stores on it. Took out all the pirate theme and went Cowboy. I am glad I got my skull mug before the casino was sold.
It was cool when they brought the pirate ship down the strip on the trailer behind a semi tractor. Steve Winn the owner and Micheal Jackson were riding the captain’s platform. They had to raise all the power lines to allow the ship to come down the strip. I watched in on the TV, it was very cool
