IN 1994 I was a craps dealer at the Lady Luck Casino in downtown Las Vegas
I drove a Toyata pickup which was a bench seat with a stick shift. A very small truck. Four of us craps dealer had semi auto weapons. I had an SKS, John had an AK47, and Chris had a AR15. We all had pistols as well. We found a range that would let you shoot indoors with rifles.
One summer day we decide to got to that Range. 4 of us cram into my little pickup. Me and job are big dudes. So I was driving so they had to leave room for me. 1 sat straddling the stick shift. One crammed in nex to the door. The smallest guy was laying on the laps of all of us. There were rifles sticking out the windows. There were 4 ammo cans in the bed of the truck. So it looked like a cartoon with all the stuff sticking out. We drove down the Strip at 11 in the morning past casinos and turned left at Treasure Island. We passed cops. We drove past limos. We just were in traffic.
No one gave us a second look. Back then there was no fear of rifles. Try that again SWAT would called and a siege would take place. It was fun though. I wish someone had taken a pic of us. We had fun at the range then once again down the strip fully armed.
