Thanksgiving in Vegas was a weird holiday. As a cabby I got a free Turkey from a casino. As a dealer I had to work the Holiday usually. I was a graveyard dealer as you know, and this let me have the holiday at home for a little lack of sleep. Not a lot of people in town for the holiday.
The casino would normally have a Thanksgiving dinner for the workers. There was a dark side to the Holiday. The people who came to town I swear they have been banned from attending their family gathering. They mean, angry and drunk, the three things you hate dealing to. Never as a rule tipped us. I was not alone wanting to 86 the lot to get them out of our sight.
As a cabby they were the same way. Only good thing was in 15 minutes max you got them out of your cab. I don’t suggest attending Thanksgiving in Vegas as th red grinches bother the other players too.
One thing almost all dealers were Thankful that they had their own friends and family to spend the holiday
